“Let me be the first to say all dog trainers are not alike. I have been to many trainers in the past but none like Downtown Dogs Chicago, with its owner/trainer, Ari Fleishman. What I noticed right away was the extensive knowledge that Ari has obtained. He has trained under some of the most renowned dog trainers, but what makes him different is that he created his own unique style. Ari has a special gift. He is very good at reading dogs. All dogs are not the same and ONE training method will not work for all dogs, so with my dog he customized the training just for him….”
“Chicago is very lucky to have some one of Ari’s abilities, experience, and dedication offering his training services to the public. I have met a lot of professional trainers and the level of his ability to read and understand dogs is exceptional which is the key to solving any training or behavioural issues.”
“Ari is amazing! My family has nicknamed him “doggie Jesus” for the miracles he performs with my dog. I have a deaf PitBull, who is human and dog aggressive. I never imagined being able to comfortably take her out without a muzzle, let alone actually be near other humans with her. Yesterday, on only our THIRD training session, we went to a park full of people, dogs, and kids. Under Ari’s guidance, my dog was extremely well behaved, and I was comfortable enough to walk closely to people and dogs…”
GENERAL FAQ ABOUT OUR DOG TRAINING
WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING METHODS DO YOU USE?
Our dog trainers use a method we like to call “the Marker System.” We introduce a series of “markers” or stimuli, to indicate an action. Once the “marker” is understood, the learning phase can begin. We teach our dogs through positive reinforcement in the form of, food, play, or something else that triggers a sense of excitement in your dog. Once your dog understands behavioral cues we move into a more complex system of operant conditioning. We put you and your dog through environmental and distraction exercises to ensure that your dog is fully listening to you and your commands.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO TRAIN MY DOG?
We have multiple programs ranging from 10 days to 8 weeks. Our dog trainers will work with you and your dog to produce the desired results. Each dog, human, behavioral issue is different, and our dog trainers handle each scenario as such to ensure the best possible results.
AT WHAT AGE SHOULD I BEGIN TRAINING MY DOG?
Ari began training his award winning pooch, Zica, at 7 weeks, and is a big proponent of the idea that it is never too early to start building a solid foundation for you and your puppy. Our group lessons are a great way to begin building that foundation. However, our dog trainers recommend that Board and Train should begin around the 5-6 month period.
WHAT IS THIS GOING TO COST ME?
Our dog training packages range in price from $1000 for 6 private lessons and includes equipment($400 value) that focus on training you and your dog to work together to build up a solid foundation and on up. Depending on your needs we can find a course of action that fits best into your schedule and budget. For more information on pricing please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
